St. Louis Domestic and Family Violence Council

A parent/guardian may file a Petition for an Order of Protection on behalf of a child whenever that child has been subject to abuse by a current adult household member. (Sect. 455.505.1, R.S.Mo.) The petition forms are available on the St. Louis County Circuit Court website or by clicking the links on the left side of this page.

In many instances, the judge who receives the O/P petition will order the Children's Division to investigate the case and submit a report to the court prior to the O/P Full Hearing.

In addition to seeking child orders of protection for emergencies involving children, the Children's Division
should be contacted immediately.

The Missouri Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline number is 1-800-392-3738.

The local St. Louis County central number is (314) 264-7700.

The St. Louis County Children's Division has four offices. To determine the appropriate branch, please refer to Addendum E.
The branches and their telephone numbers are as follows:

1. Page -          (314) 264-7700
2. Jennings -     (314) 877-2550
3. Seven Hills - (314) 475-7750
4. South -         (314) 416-2700
